A lesbian couple in New Mexico is suing a school district for a teacher’s blatant discrimination against their daughter. The Advocate will phrase it more clearly than I will:
The couple’s daughter wrote the story of her mothers’ wedding for a project for her fifth-grade class at the Martin Luther King Elementary School in Rio Rancho, N.M.
“The teacher said that it was disgusting and that people didn’t need to know about it, and she forced this child to revise the article that she had written,” Amelia Nelson, the family’s attorney told KOB News. The teacher then made the girl redo the assignment. This teacher also refused to shake the girl’s stepmother’s hand, didn’t inform a nurse when the girl was assaulted on the playground, and wouldn’t let her stepmother volunteer at any school events. Really?
This is discrimination that verges on child abuse. This teacher is a disgusting excuse for a person and she shouldn’t be allowed to make contact with decent human beings, let alone children. I hope this family wins this case and the teacher is forced out of the job she is clearly ill-equipped to perform. Good riddance.
I hate discrimination; I support everyone.
I really hope the last part added wasn’t added by you Dan, cuz you’ve had my dick in your arse, that makes you pretty...
I’m really disgusted that I go to school in this same school district. Fuck you, RRPS.
I’ve never hated the school system in NM more. I mean, there are teachers like that everywhere, but specifically here...
